DRAFT OPPOSED IN
HASAN
Pro-Hindu organisations stage protest in Hassan. They appealed to the
President of India, by way of submitting a memorandum to the Deputy
Commissioner.
The organisations had called upon the city to observe half a day’s
bundh on Tuesday and the call was met with good response. The activists went on
a bike rally from in front of Hemavathi statue at around 10.30 am and passed
through main streets in the city till 12 noon.
They appealed to the shopkeepers and businessmen not to open their
shops till afternoon, in support of their protest, which was headed by the
latter. Following this, the activists formed human chain at N R Circle for some
time. They later arrived at the office of Deputy Commissioner, shouting slogans
against AICC President Sonia Gandhi and the Centre.
“Central government is planning to bring this bill in order to
capture the vote bank of minority communities. Even those who committed
sacrilege against us, never introduced such bills that were against the
interest of other communities. The lone reason against this bill is to finish
off the pro-Hindu forces and is against unity and sovereignity of the country.
Everyone in the right frame of mind, needs to oppose this,” activists said.
Deputy Commissioner Dr K G Jagadish received memorandum from the
activists. Rashtriya Svayam Sevaka Sangha’s Ramesh, Kattaya Shivakumar, C S
Krishnaswamy, M N Krishne Gowda, B Lohith Gowda Kundur, Manjunatha Sharma,
Madhukar Gowda, Prasanna Kumar and others were present.
